I studied fine art & fashion at college & gained a place at uni in 1997 but was also offered an apprenticeship by Alan Hale (proprietor of Alzone Tattoo Studio). I decided to take him up on the offer & have now been tattooing for close to 13 years. I still try to keep my hand in fine art by painting but I find myself with less time since the birth of my 2 children.
I love to tattoo all kinds of artwork, but in my paintings I choose quirky, surreal subject matter. Sometimes a little dark but always with a sense of fun. Maybe these are the things that people would never get tattooed by me, that I need to see on canvas. I do have a tendancy to put my own little spin on things, even when I'm trying to be super-traditional. Eclectic is fun for me right now.
