Why not keep these in the artist's forum then? What's the point in showing something to the great unwashed if we can't comment?

Because you have to be an artist to post in the artists section, this way anybody can post work, and the no comment back rule is in place so there wont be any 'yea well your opinions sucks dick your a tosser' replies which are a complete waste of everyones time.

David non tattooers do have the right to give any constructive critique they want, if the person posting wants them too. I think thats fair dude.

I'll go first to get the ball rolling, this is pretty obvious but here is a painting of mine that I'm not 100% happy with.

I choose to let anyone comment.

Here are the things that I'm not happy with, the text isn't up to my usual standards and the black is a little patchy for my liking one eye is a little bigger than the other and i took the border too tight on the bottom right hand corner.

Let me have it yo.

I'll start the ball rolling. Nothing fancy, just some bread & butter tattooing.

We dont all sit and do custom work all day, it's nice when you get to do something special.

Critique is welcome from all.

the backwards N catches my eye, i dont like it at all. as small as the lettering looks i'd adjust the weight of the line in places. if it was being tattoo'd make the links in the chain + buttons a bit bigger.

black and red work very well together as you know.

I think that theres too much black in the jacket, its really dense and weighs the bottom of the image down.
Also i think other colours might pick it up a bit, as apart from black and white theres only one, red, (yes i know hes the devil.....) and its used quite a lot and close together.

Id lighten his coat to a charcoal grey and keep the black for the shadows on it, give him a slick black 'do and go for brown shading in the banners.

I quite like the eyes, gives him a psychotic Abraham Lincon look!

Hope my inexperienced opinion helps!!

The swallow is nice - propper old school style

but I feel that the 'I' in 'Alisha' would have looked better placed further to the left so that the main collumn sits in line with the main collumns of the other letters...does that make sense?

My two pence worth
