Is it lack of guidance or lack of patience that's making you feel down? For something that I would assume you would want to do for the rest of your life, waiting this period out will become remarkably rewarding. Nothing comes easy.
definitely lack of guidance. I'm a very patient person
but I can see light at the end of the tunnel and am definitely improving.
i've found that i've been thru every mind set and emotion possible so far from fear to frustration to elation and back again, its certainly very stressful and a lots and lots of hard work, but the most rewarding and enjoyable thing i've ever done in my life
It's definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I've been up and down and all around and I haven't found it easy. It's always making me think and try to be more practical in and out the studio. Trying to make better decisions and try to give myself a kick up the arse when I need it if boss' aren't doing that already. I'm lucky to have great guidance and mentors who i consider very important because they know me and my life. It's that sort of relationship that helps and can make your journey not easier, but, more comfortable to learn
I took my portfolio of paintings into a shop last week and they seemed impressed. I have to go back tomorrow and find out if I get the apprentice placement. I'm so excited to start this journey. I'll keep you posted if I get it or not.
What Jedderz said... I;m due down in Cornwall in 3 weeks to start touting, so I'm up late drawing like a mad bastard right now [which is helped by my new work hours of 12-8pm...]
Good luck Aaron - I like your stuff and I'm sure with your attitude you'll do fine mate, get on it!
My interview went great! I got on really well with the two artists. They have invited me back on Thursday for a trial day, they tell me if I'm helpfull they will offer me a full apprentice placement, and if I'm not they told me they would sell me to the sex trade ha ha.
