Default How to get a shop profile in a magazine?

I am currently doing my tattoo appprenticeship and I was talking to the owner of the studio about why he doesn't advertise and his responce was that he wants to keep it traditional and just get business from word of mouth. After a long discussion of pros and cons I managed to concince him that getting a shop profile in a magazine would be a good idea and he has placed this as my responsibility. I just wanted to know if anybody else has arranged something like this and if so how they went about doing it. I have emailed a few tattoo magazines a few days ago but have yet to hear a response.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first rule should be that it's a good shop, but that's not always true with Skin Deep

Where do you work?

i would be surprised if your studio ever gets a profile in Skin Deep. The work aint anything special, to put it kindly.

Also, I suspect you'd have to wait more than a few days to hear back (if you hear back at all). Could be a month or more.

i dont think that any reasonably good or great artist would think that having a profile in a mag would be a bad idea. And the prospect of "keeping the tradition by just word of mouth"- unless hes that unbelievably amazing and he knows it- so he can afford to think that way.. surely an artist would see a mag profile as a great way to showcase his skills and therefore boost the business in every way??

Do you pay for your apprenticeship if you dont mind me asking?
