Did this tonight. Not sure whether the black works but It was the only way I could prevent the whole flower looking flat. Realism is clearly not a strong point of mine.

Wes, flower looks great, I think the black is just fine.

Ryan, Love the pattern idea on the koi, try maybe a thicker outline? Works for me to make things neat and stand out.
