Default critique

hi there everybody,
i totally understand there are lots of requests for critique on there art and i dont want to be flogging a dead horse but i would like some advice.Ever since i was about 16 (im now 33) ive been obsessed about tattoos and the art forms and folklore that come with it.ive been a plumber for 7 years and im getting to the point in my my life where i want to do something im passionate about instead of something to just bring money in and id like to do it while im still young enough.im signing up to college to do my diploma in art and design part time and im going to try and work towards an apprenticeship which im so determined that im willing to give up my job for this which is a big deal considering i have 2 kids, but i want to know if im wasting my time?i have only been drawing a few years and dont really know any theory etc i just put pencil to paper and see what happens but im hoping my course at college will help me understand art fully so one day i can be a tattoo ARTIST.here are a few pics of mine (hopefully ive uploaded them right) and would really appreciate any criticism on whether i show any kind of ability that could transfer to tattooing.
thanks in advance

I'm in a similar position man, 29, pretty well paid but just don't want to do it anymore! At least as your in a trade you could still work around an apprenticeship!? The only way I'm ever going to do it is either finding an artist tht understands my situation and thinks I'm worth the effort or work letting me drop hours. I'm going to cross that bridge when it comes to it an I'm just drawing like crazy for now.

As for your work it's all about practice! You have got good likenesses with the portraits. For the other stuff just make sure you look at lots of reference and practice!

I'm no artist, but even I can see you need more reference and practice for your traditional stuff. The skulls especially in your traditional drawings don't look quite right.

Try picking up something like the Sailor Jerry flash book, just to reference from.

The portraits look really good though.

to be perfectly honest the trad stuff on there was just little doodles i drew when sitting around, not actually going off any reference just daft ideas that came to mind,so far the only thing ive really sat down and tried were the portraits which ive still got a long way to go.but i will definitely start getting some reference for the trad stuff and actually sit and work on some
