Default O/T: UK Workers' holiday entitlement to increase to 28 days

This is great news - it's about time that we fell in line with other countries

News here

Full time workers will get 24 days annually (plus bank holidays) from this month - then that will increase to 28 days come April next year.

Of course, I'll probably do my usual and only take about half that: but it's good to know the option is there

yay, more holiday!
Oh wait... I don't work so my whole life is a (poverty stricken) holiday as it is.

It has always annoyed me that other european countries are so much better then us, yet we work more (but not necessarily harder) then they do. 'Bout time it was worth our while.

Well I work IN the school, but not employed by the council or school board. I work for a private company that is a registered charity and until now we were only entitled to 15 days paid holidays a year. As of Nov 1st we have 21 paid holidays, the added 6 will paid during the Christmas and New Year holiday.
