Default Back it up !!!!!
i dunno if anyone else is like me ...and never actually gets around to backing up files n shizz......''i'll do it tomorrow''

but ..please do it today...

my computer was working fine ..like they do ,,,and then just had a major melt down, which could have been caused by something as innocent asa windows up date..

in the process of formattimg it now ...losing everything on it ..luckily for me theres is nothing important on it....theres stuff i would rather didn't disappear but hey ho...

eep looks like the formatting failed too ...back on the phone for me

first thing i do tomorrow is buying and external for each puter ...gah!!

Hun I know the feeling ! when my old pc went tits up we bunged everything on it onto camera cards , mp3 players & the lttle memory sticks my son used when he was at college & a dvd . I hope your format works ok !

hehe i kept reading ..put stuff on to externals etc ,,,but the dam thing won't even boot up in safe mode..i was thinking ...just one little start up so i can shift stuff....lol

anyways its been formatted twice now, and still no joy...enginneer is coming out to it tomorrow....yeay for pc performance cover.

guy on phone says its fixable if they have the part...and its something pyshical thats broke on it...


lesson learnt for sure ..lol

just been telling the kids i'll get 3 externals, we'll have one each and everything is getting moved on to them just incase ,,,lol

I back up all my work on an hourly basis almost, but I tend to neglect personal stuff. Your post made me finally get around to backing up 50 Gigs of photos.

This happened to my laptop few months ago - but i took the hard drive out and put it in my other PC copied everything over and rebuilt my laptop and now i just save all my files to external hard drive and i also copy it to my other pc - as an extra back up haha
i nearly had a heart attack when my laptop broke - cuz if i had lost everything it would have been like 10 years worth of photos.

Its a good job im a computer geek and get paid to do stuff like that haha

1st couple of times ours went wrong it was down to the graphics card failing , it looked fatal but wasn't & was easily fixed once we'd worked out what the problem was , I hope yours is the same

you know its funny you should say that ..from the mumbo jumbo that various blue screens n wot not have chucked up ...a couple of times what was on screen ,,i thought sounded like it was graphic card related ..

so yeah maybe so...its always been a bit tempremental..


ironically it was the graphics card that was the deciding factor when buying it ..lol

3 tmes we've blown a graphcs card on the old pc , probably because game playing children "must " have an upgrade & the poor old pc couldn't cope
