It gets easier after a while, I wear a nose stud in mine now it doesn't annoy me as much

Means that I'll have to eat more daintily or spend a fortune at the dentist.

you do get used to it, after about 2 weeks, but until then I'd just eat small mouthfuls and no baguettes!

Appreciate all the advice, does that mean I'll have to eat lots of Easter eggs and let them melt slowly before swallowing? Woolies, 3 for 2 here I come.
Mmm baguettes, point taken it'll have to be doughie sarnies for a while then.

The shorter the post the better really to prevent biting and sucking on it, and as for the erosion factor I find that a nose stud helps with that too.
For one I prefer a small jewel and for 2 the spike doesn't affect the gums the same because there's substantially less surface area on it to damage what's behind it, on a negative note it is far more temping to twirl it ALL THE TIME!

I don't have any piercings around my mouth.Anything that inhibits my talking or cake eating is not worth having.I just have a girly little tooth crystal thats remained stuck on for over 4 years.A record according to my dentist.
