i must admit, that i have been asked maybe twice how much my back cost, and it was from people without tattoos. Most tattooed peeps have only asked 'how many hours'

Regarding wanting to know the price of a tattoo for one's self, I think it all comes down to personal circumstances. I, for instance, am a student, so knowing the price helps me to budget (we're talking theoretically here), and realise that, ooh, I've actually only got 2.57 a week to live on now... fun...

As for wanting to know how much someone else's tattoo costs, I can't say I'm ever interested. I was talking to a housemate yesterday about my next tattoo, telling her the design idea, and she asked how much it would cost. Made me feel a bit funny. But we (me and my artist) haven't approached the money issue yet, so I could tell her the truth that I didn't know.

my non tattooed friends asked me how much my latest addition cost and when I told them my best mate said "you've got more money than sense!" but at least I've got something to show for it and I'll never lose it, like material possessions. my best mate is quite anti-tattoos though, which I'll never understand either.

people do ask, If it's a friend and they are genuinely interested I'll tell them, but complete strangers can whistle!

I like the idea of tattooists having gift vouchers as its a way of saving for your tattoo and buy your self a gift vouchers every so often until u have enough for what u want
