Question half-sleeve

hi,
first post, so please don't shoot me down in flames just yet.
i've only got a few tattoos so far (two scrolls and a star of chaos on my back, and a tribal design on my arm, all my own designs), and i've decided to get myself a new one, as a sort of xmas present to myself.
the thing is, my fiancee says the idea i've had is crap, and keeps saying it'll look horrible, so i'm trying to get some opinions, and where better than here, right?
the idea is, a koi carp (no, wait, give it a minute, let me explain) but with a bit of a change, to keep it unique - instead of your normal orchids, and clean, blue water, i was going to have the carp as just a skeleton, with green/purple toxic water, and a burning pagoda & a couple of barrels of toxic waste on the bank.

anyone care to express admiration? disgust? bewilderment? modifications?

mig

i quite like the idea your thinking of and have seen something similar, it looked pretty cool!
but at the end of the day its up to you what you get, not anyone else.

am I missing something here?

Welcome Mig, you get whatever you want mate. Just make sure you go to someone decent who can interpret and draw up your ideas well, and tattoo it well too.

the tattoo it well bit, obviously, but i was going to try and do the design myself - decided a while ago that if i did it that way, i'd save myself a bit of money since it would take a while to finish each design, and it'd be a HUGE coincidence if anyone else had exactly the same tattoo.

just so i don't start a new thread, i shall use this one. (first post i ever made on here. ahh, memories).
i finally went to modern body art yesterday and put down the money to get this designed. unfortunately jo's booked up until about february, so it'll be someone else, but judging by the photo's on the website, they're all cracking artists. hopefully get dawn, since it looks like she has the most new school style of the photos on the site.

anyway. woo!
