whats everyone like at drawing hands? sketched out a hand today n it looks a bit pants,ill post it up if you all want a laff lol,how about seeing some that you guys have drawn????? hands are my personal pain in the ass

for me it depends, if it's just a drawing of hands i'm fine, but if they're small and part of a bigger picture i'm shit at them

I got a book from the dover bookshop, about drawing hands and on every page it shows the hand with skin then with no skin (bones and muscles) and then just the bones, and its got every kind of hand shape you could want.

I dont have any problems now sketching and lining hands now but I dont really ned to draw alot of them, traditional 'old school' hands are pretty simple...

But before I had the book I just used to make my girly hold her hand out in the position I wanted, then I'd take a photo of it with the digital camera, transfer it to my work laptop (one with all my art work on it and photoshop etc) then just flip the screen down and trace the outline and then just work from there...

sounds like a pretty good idea,i suppose until you learn where all the lines go for different positions then u just draw off the top of ya head
