First tattoo

Hey guys,

So I'm planning on getting my first tattoo, but I'm not totally sure where to get it.

Can you please recommend places in London, that are obviously decent, but good in terms of first time, service, experience etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have any ideas what kind of style you are after? London is literally bursting with great artists...and then there is the convention at the end of september too, where you could have the opportunity to get inked by people from all over the world.

I know what I want to get, but the style I'm not total sure on as I guess I want it to look as it does on the artwork.

I've attached the artwork of what I'm after. I would have just the image and not the text and I was thinking of having it on my arm.

As you mentioned, there are a lot of places in London and it's confusing as I want to make the right choice as you can imagine. As for September, what's happening then? Is there a convention?

If you like that image then print it and hang it on your wall then go get a real tattoo.

Yeah totally. I've made a mistake or two with artist choices and it's frustrating, I'm sure I'm not the only one on here to have done as well. I don't know who would be good for that kind of image but now it's up I'm sure somebody will.

The london tattoo convention is a massive assembly of top artists from allover the place, you can have a look here:

Even if you don't actually get tattooed there it is quite an eye opening experience with a lot going on outside of tattoos.

I don't know why the image you've posted would make any less of a 'real tattoo' than any other...here was me thinking it was about freedom of expression if that is what you like, and you are as certain as you can be that you will always like the image even if your tastes in music change (I'm assuming it's music related) then why not? I only have four tattoos but none of them are particularly meaningful, I just like the pretty pictures lol.

yea you are right you can get anything you want tattooed on your body but if you post with regards to your first tattoo and want opinion then thats what you will get. And i stand by my comment that this image will not make a good tattoo. In saying that if you get a good artist to turn the concept into a tattoo, out line it etc it could work. If you don't it will be red mush in 10 years.
