Default Big tribal cover up ideas

Hey,
i've got a large tribal half sleeve, that i've grown less and less fond of over the last 8 years.
I took the plunge about 6 months ago and started having laser treatment to fade it, with the hope of getting a cover up.

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of styles i should / could look at for cover up?

I realise it's going to have to be something quite "heavy" to cover up the black areas... but i was hoping we could use the clearer areas to add detail or something?

I'm still going to get some more laser sessions - you can't see it in these photos, but it has lightened a lot, and in some places is breaking up completely.

A few quick ideas that come to mind:

You could turn the tribal tattoo into a bunch of cool looking eels all swarming around each other. Maybe add in some electricity lightening bolt type things to add even more jazz. Another idea is to turn it into a squid or octopus with tentacles reaching all around your arm. You can then add some background in between the tentacles like water or even fire.

A less water-based idea is that you could cover up your tattoo with a forest full of branches interweaving.

One of the common ways to cover up large, dark tattoos is to overlay the original tattoo with an eagle. I can see that working with your tattoo, where the bottom pieces of the tribal tattoo turn into the eagle's claws/talons.

Hope that gives you something!

Keep going with the laser as each session will increase the options you will have. I agree with Biomech as that's what I'd like to get done with my tribal sleeve

after all that laser I'd avoid tsharma's ideas of quite similar dark lines and go for something colourful with areas of darker shadow if needed - biomech, japanese, floral, though a big colourful octopus or similar could be cool.

Just laser until it's nice and light and get something you really want. Don't think of it as a cover up, just choose a new tattoo!

give laser about 5 sessions and get whatever you want, a good artist familiar with covers can work wonders. Where are you located and what kind of style would you like?

may I suggest and eagle fighting a snake or a big fuck all panther or all of them in a sleeve
