Savlon for my first circa 1990. There was a chemist 2 doors down from the tattooist who did a roaring trade in it.

Strangely I went into a studio that I have never been tattooed in and they were still selling it as aftercare.

Naturally, I passed.

My first few were using savlon about 17 years ago, then I didn't have any for a while but I think preparation h was the in thing. One half sleeve a few years ago I was told to use bep then 18 months ago when I got my second half sleeve i was advised to use savlon again, although he said I could use bep if I wanted to.I started using savlon but went back to bep as it seemed to scab less.Healed up ok using both though.

Not that I've ever been told not to but I wouldn't want to use vaseline anyway cause its sticky and minging. I have always used savlon for the first couple of days whilst it's still fresh and once it starts to air out and dry up a bit then I use fragrance free Palmer's cocoa butter. Never had any problems at all.
