They said that I will probably need 5-8 as I want a fade/cover-up rather than total removal.

I don't know much about it, just saying it is not that expensive and totally worth it.

I really feel for you, this is a complete mess. It doesn't flow at all and the artwork is on the lower side of mediocre (it certainly beats my artistic skills, but that's about as far as I'd go). I really think you should consider laser to fade it and then start again with someone who knows what they're doing - is watercolour something this guy has done before?

Your going to want to wait 3 months after your last session to start the lasering process. That's roughly how long it will take before the new ink is fully entrapped in the dermis layer. Having new ink lasered that is still in the epidermis will cause more blistering and possibly a higher incidence of scarring. Just an FYI
