Question Red soreness on my first tattoo

Hello, my tattoo was done on Friday 13th and have done all the usual post tattoo healing rituals.

It's now been 6 days and most of it has settled down. The solid line work though still is sore to the touch and has red marks around them.

Is this possibly an infection or just normal for the healing process on solid lines?http://imgur.com/a/7VD1O

What have you been putting on it during healing?
It looks a bit scabby and a touch red, though doesn't seem to be anything too drastic.

Was given "Fade the Itch" to use on it twice daily. Was going to go on to Cetaphil today.

I've been thinking it was infected so on been stressing over it alot!

I'm not sure what Cetaphil is, but I'd be inclined to wash it with unscented soap a few times a day, and perhaps leave off putting anything on it, see if that starts to clear it up.

If it's hot to the touch and VERY sore then I'd nip the GP's. Especially if you start running a temperature, and/or it starts weeping. From the pic it looks like the lines have been really hammered home, and perhaps it's not been washed as often as it should have leading to a bit of scabbing etc.

However, while I am handsome, I am not a Doctor, so do get it checked if you're worried.

as jimbob said, it doesn't look infected, just overly worked into the skin

a person i know had a large area like this, and the color eventually fell out of it(which is better than it bleeding i guess)

Overworked slightly, it will right it self.
