Default Foo Fighters tattoo with TDan in London

So this week I had the first session with TDan. It's a Foo fighters theme on the right side of my ribs. I can't quite decide if it was as painful as exoected or not some parts were a breeze, and some were horrendous.

Hard to get good photos of this but reference pic and progress pics below. Looking to finish in December or Jan.

Please with the progress but the hands look a bit messy to me. Wondering if once is shaded will look better?

Still a long way to go on the hands so will have plenty of time to tweak it. That's a rad placement and reference!

Mapping lines can look sketchy AF, I guess just watch for it when you get to the hands but what's colored in is looking good. I like the perspective of the reference you picked, it's gonna look great I think.

Looking great so far. I wouldn't worry about the hand, he's just scratched the outline in so you don't need the stencil next time. He'll go over and smooth everything out.

Thanks guys. Yep the reference jumped out at me when I was searching and TDan loved it immediately out of about 15 references. He loved the perspective which is also why I chose him for this project. He seems to nail perspective in most of his work.

First session was 5 1/2 hours of actual tattoo time. Despite appointment at 11 I had to wait around quite a bit as he had another consultation first which over ran, then an issue with the original image being scaled when I sent to him, so had to find the bigger file and resend. Then stencilling, and trying to apply the stencil took a few attempts as its an awkward spot where the arm moves near the face area. Started at 2pm, finished at 8pm with 2 small breaks.

It will look much better when he adds the lasers. Trust me.
