Default Poor heal

I don't have the best track record with healing, almost all of my tattoos have seemed to drop ink out of scabs but it has never really been a problem as they have touched up just fine.

It's kind of hard to see in tha attached picture but my actual skin seems to have healed very papery around her face and neck. I got this tattoo back in June so I've given it almost three months and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I'd like to get a touch up but I don't see anything can be done about the actual skin. Anyone else have this problem before? Also note that I doubt it's the artist fault because she did my whole sleeve over 6 sesssions and my skin healed just fine.

I have not! Is that a brand name and can I find it at a drug store?

https://www.amazon.com/Bio-Oil-Liqui.../dp/B004AI97MA

You can buy on Amazon... They recommend you use everyday for 3 months which is a time investment but it's worth it.

I was thinking about this recently, and wondered why I never hear it being recommended for healing tattoos?

I start using it about two weeks after the tat is done. Works great for me. And it's widely recommended as you can tell by the reviews it gets

I know what you mean about the papery skin. Agree with everyone else, bio oil should sort it out. In a few months you can go back for the touch up.

3 months feels like a long time but the skin seems to need more time to fully recover and get back to normal. Time is the best medicine in this case. Upwards of a year for the texture to regain its normal look. I'm pulling this info from personally healing incisions and rough laser treatments, but not tattoos, I would think trauma from the tattooing would follow the same path. I do like bio-oil as well, goes on easy, don't need too much, and it smells good to boot.

Thanks guys, just put an order in. Can't wait to see if it will help sort me out. Suppose I'll try to pass the time with other appointments or something 🤷**♂️
