Default Is there anything wrong with this tattoo?

Just got my third tattoo done in a totally new location (geographically in the US) and at a new artist. Had good reviews, shop has a 5.0 star review with tons of reviews on google, yelp, and facebook. Looked through portfolios and all had well-done stuff.

I went here for a flash event to help out a local school. I asked elsewhere and people thought this might have been bruising. I emailed the shop a picture of the tattoo and they say it looks like its healing fine. I think it looks horrible. What is going on with it? I am specifically talking about the black dots near the tattoo. I thought it might be left over from the stencil but it has been so long and I've been cleaning it daily... I am mainly worried about blowout or similar.

It has been a month since I got this tattoo. Any advice appreciated. I might go into the shop in person if it doesn't get better. It has definitely significantly faded since I first got the tattoo (the blackness near the tattoo, the tattoo itself has not faded).

The shop also said they can give a touch up if needed but.. if there is something wrong with the outside of the tattoo, I'm not sure how any kind of touchup can fix it..

Thatís just light whip shading, which was done on purpose. Thereís nothing wrong with it

Thank you for the response!! I have heard some friends tell me it looks like a shaded background. I guess I just didn't expect it to be done on purpose since I wasn't told about it!

I think the stenciling was poorly done and poorly placed. Just my opinion.

Can you clarify what you mean? Do you think he went outside of the stencil because of the way it was placed or something?

I saw the stencil on my arm before he started tattooing and it was well done and well placed (granted I'm not an expert but nothing at all looked wrong)

I think itíd look better without the shading on the outside but you hardly notice it. Nobody is going to be looking at your arm that closely. There was nothing wrong with the stencil. Itís a decent tattoo.

Its definitely way less noticeable without the full lighting and close up of the tattoo haha. I would have preferred it without the shading but as long as it wasn't something along the lines of blowout (or some kind of artist mistake) I'm cool with it.
