I had a tattoo get infected. It wasn't as big as yours, but it looked a bit like that in terms of the infection. My tattooist thinks it was something in the ink, which he stopped using after this happened to me. I was given an antibiotic shot and another prescription for them to take orally. You really need to go see a doctor ASAP and get drugs. For real.

Sometimes they look worse in pics.

My forearm was sore as it healed on the tender side, but was fine on the other side and healed in a few days.

I used h2o intitially but only a tiny bit. I kept it wrapped for 2 days after the tattoo. Changing the wrap and cleaning with mild foam soap every few hours.

As others have said. Leave it alone.

Whoa, that is a bad infection. That's not normal stabbing. I've nothing to add that the others haven't said already. Hope you seek medical advice and it heals ok.

damn that's a horrific scab up.
leave it alone just use the doxy med. that will clear the crap out, also any spots on your skin and even any STD you may have lol. DOXY is powerful stuff.

im wondering if it being those bright colours helped make the infection that way, compared to if simpler colours were used.

What do you mean? How would bright colours make an infection worse?
