I've always been advised against it but for the life of me don't remember why.

When I had my sleeve done I knew (well, learned with the lower forearm - my sleeve was done bottom to top) how long I could go before the discomfort was too much. My artist also got to know this (and could tell) so the sessions which were booked to suit.

It might have taken 14 months/12 sessions to complete my sleeve but it wasn't too uncomfortable.

One thing I did find though was if I started to feel discomfort and focused on it, it got much worse much quicker. If I relaxed and ignored it, it was fine - I fell asleep while the upper arm was being done!..

We are all different but a lot of "pain" is mental IMO. Learn some kind of meditation/self hypnosis/chill the f out techniques and give them a try.

If you mean upper outer arm then yes that's not too painful at all. If you mean upper inner arm then you're a beast!
Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticise them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.
