My name is Sergey. "George" is a pen-name. I'm a Russian tattoo artist. I did my first tattoo at age 17, using an ordinary needle and thread, a primitive tattoo method used in Russia back then. This was an experiment rather than the beginning of my career, but it bore fruit later on.

After many friends asked me to tattoo them I created my first tattoo machine. It consisted of a "Sputnik" razor and a sharpened guitar string. With the help of this device I started experimenting with tattoos. It was then that my career began.

Each experiment added to my desire to master the craft. Experimentation helped to compensate for the shortage of information available then. I had practice in building rotary machines of materials at hand.

It was during that period that I met Taras. Later our friendship grew into a close partnership, helped to shape my creative ideas and led to further development of the machines we were using. We tried different devices and in 1993 we built the first sample of inductive tattoo machine. We made experiments with mechanism and a frame design until they came up with what could be called a professional model.

As we experimented, I gained considerable experience in tattooing, and took it up as a life career. I worked as a guest artist for tattoo studios in St. Petersburg(Russia), Austria, Germany and UK. Since 1998 I have been the member of A.P.T.A. and since 2001- of A.P.T.. In 1999 I've started to take part in tattoo Conventions in Europe. I enjoy different styles of tattooing but prefer to work by custom and think that involving the customer in a detailed discussion of the work is an important part in the tattooing process.
