I know we have a rant thread, but this is aimed specifically at Wannabe apprentices.
We always seem to get people sending letters to us asking for apprenticeships. They always say the same things ie; what a good person they are, how good they are with the public etc......
Then they always attach a CV with the letter......
He's a tip: Come in & see us yourself with a fucking Portfolio!!!!
CV's don't really say much about your artistic abilities & to be honest, who gives a fuck about what you like to do in your spare time.
It just seems to me, these kids are going into the jobcentre looking for work & saying "I like to draw, I think I can be a Tattooist."
It just annoys me that people can be so half-arsed about these things.
That is taking the piss just a bit aye! I wouldn't dream of just sending in a CV or covering letter, but I suppose it can be daunting going into a studio and asking, but if you can't grow a pair and get over that first hurdle you're not going anywhere I guess!
What annoys me more is bellends who think they can just draw some half-assed stuff copied from elsewhere and then come on here boasting of a "strong portfolio" - it kinda takes the piss out of people like myself who are taking a long time to build up a portfolio and are willing to work damn hard towards starting out. This isn't really aimed at anyone, I'm just annoyed that a lot of people out there aren't prepared to go at it the traditional way.
Not worth getting cross over though. It only takes a second to put the CV in the recycling bin!

So thats a no then? I thought I would win you over with my love of long walks on the beach and my passion for jigsaws. I truely am great with customers haven't told any to get fucking stuffed in at least a month.

Yea but what I lack in art qulifications and infact artistic abilty I make up for in my excellent people skills and just imagine what the stuido would be like with out some that could complete a jigsaw, there would be chaos I tell you!
