You kidding, from the NHS!!! Don't feel sorry for me, we work 13 hour days and 12 hour nights by choice on an 8 day shift, 5 night shift split. It means in a four week block we have 15 days off but still work full time hours.

The retail trade hide behind allsorts of clever laws!
Its up to you to stand up to them and ask me-dear! Sadly unless anyone speaks out they get away with murder .......... illegal but true!

So ask them what they are going to pay for over time.

that happened to my mum at sainsburys years ago... she was one of a few who stood her ground... they can offer you a new package, you sign a new contract as far as I'm aware... but she chose not to and they made her life hell

When my shop was prepping for the big sale i had to do 2 6pm-3am shifts in a row, i didnt get any extra money as i am one of the managers and paid a salary, and apparently doing things like this is all part of my position (whatever) i dont get paid for overtime either, as my contract cheekily says that my hours are 40 per week, or the amount of hours it takes to complete all the weekly tasks to the companys requirements, as a result i regularly do 50 hours a week. when we were first opening and setting up i was working 12 hours a day 7 days a week for 3 weeks, with no extra money, but it was all part of the "learning process of being a manager"

ANYWAY, the staff that were paid by the hour got paid time and a half for all the hours after 10pm as this is seen as anti social working hours, im not sure if that was a company policy or a law tho, but probably a law as the company i work for are tight bastards and wouldnt pay people time and a half by choice. They were also required to supply money for taxis home as there were no buses, but funnily enough i didnt see any of that money!
