Lightbulb New realism back piece

Hi guys,

After a long gruelling month my back piece is now complete. Totally stoked about how it turned out. It was originally to be red, but was told by the artist that it would be overpowering and distract the viewer from the focal point, the crack in the centre of the wall. The flora was also the artist idea, to give the overall piece more depth. Overall very pleased with the end result.

Sorry about the crappy photo, doesn't show the grains on the brick with much detail.

One thing lead to another we ended up talking about his new brick wall. Apparently the bricks were imported from Italy and could withstand a earthquake. I was invited over to have a look at the wall and was struck by the sheer quality and craftsmanship of it all. It was really love at first sight. I've never felt such a strong emotional attachment with an object before and in a way that brick wall was me, a metaphor of my spirit; cold, hard, unnoticed, but yet standing tall no matter what obstacle life throws at you.

Most of time I just tune out when the missus starts talking; but like stars aligned, I had subconsciously registered what she had said - which was "Why don't you get a tattoo of the that wall if it's... " etc.

So I did.
There's a short story in that, or maybe a 10 minute film.

sounds like you had a 'non religious' epiphany which are of course the best kind, interesting story behind the motivation for that tattoo, very nice work done on that.
