The problem you seem to have is Elliott is cheaper but further away so take into consideration travel costs etc. may work out more in the end.

Ultimately comes down to who you prefer and if you can afford them then won't be an issue

Failing that flip a coin

Have you contacted both artists?

MIght be an idea to find out their availability and waiting times etc.

If I went with Elliott, I would see if he would do 2 day sessions to cut down on travel. I'd probably do that with Chris too to be honest.

I have heard Chris is superfast as well, I've seen posts where he has done a full colour backpiece in 6 full sessions which is fairly crazy.

I have contacted both to try start an initial conversation so hopefully got an answer to some of my questions.

Thankfully, I think either way I go, will be a great result. This is the definition of a 1st world problem!

Like you say whichever way you go then you are onto a winner.

I have contacted artists in the pasts and literally been ignored. It makes your choice easier if 1 artist is easier to deal with and actually responds to your e-mails etc.

Good luck whichever way you decide to go.

That is very true too!

Thanks for your input though, much appreciated. You have put my mind in a clearer place than it was this morning!

I have a sleeve by Chris, and a calf and foot piece by Elliott. Personally I think that Chris is the better tattooist- marginally. Chris is more expensive and this WILL add up over the course of a full back. However Chris is super fast. Elliott is brilliant as well, and he's as good value as you can expect to find in a premium artist. For me it would be a really hard call. If money wasn't a factor I would pick Chris. If money had to be considered I would save a bit more and still pick Chris. Elliott is a very, very close second. I'm proud and lucky to have pieces by both

Not yet. But I have talked to him a few times and he is planning on coming to the States. So hopefully!

Wow, pieces by both. You should be very proud. After having a good long think about it today and taking on board all the input, my ideal situation would be Chris to do my back and pick up a smaller piece from Elliott.

That might satisfy my itch for both!
