Be careful with it. I had a tattoo of ship on my forearm. I banged my arm on a wall and the ship sunk. Devastated

I got the titanic on my arm and we all know how that ended.

tdhine 07-05-2018 02:26 PM

Do you actually have a Titanic tattoo? I own a few books, such a fascinating story.

No, but I too am fascinated. I've sailed transatlantic a couple of times and the ships take a detour when they reach where she is sunk, they won't sail over her.

tdhine 08-05-2018 12:08 PM

I’m from Southampton so there are a load of things you can wander around and see. Captain Smith’s house, the old White Star offices (now a pub ) and lots of graves including Fred Fleet who was the lookout on the night Titanic hit the iceberg.

He survived and worked on a number of other ocean liners before retiring. He then sold the local paper in town for a while. In 1965 his wife died and 12 days later he hung himself in his garden. Sadly his family never had enough money for a headstone, so his was an unmarked grave until the late 90s. After the film people became interested in Fred and the Titanic Society paid for a proper headstone. It’s an interesting part of the graveyard, he’s right next to a guy who got struck by lightning.

On the outside of the forearm I would like to do a neo traditional, would it fit?

tdhine 24-05-2018 12:13 AM

You can fit a good sized tattoo in that space. What would be the subject of your neo traditional tattoo?

Venice. I would like to do it at the point of the same size of the sailing ship, on the outside. Would the mix of different styles be fine?

marcotattoo46 30-05-2018 12:19 AM

I thought about tattooing the mask "bauta" of Venice external forearm in the new trafitional style.

tdhine 30-05-2018 12:49 AM

That would be a cool tattoo but I would not place it so close to your ship. Maybe not on your arm but somewhere else, perhaps your leg?

Dominiccjs 30-05-2018 02:18 AM

i have a venetian mask on my arm, love them, it’s a cool idea. second what time said, somewhere on your leg would be better.

Why not near to the sailing ship? I only tattoo my arms.

I would not want to tattoo over my arms.

tdhine 31-05-2018 08:53 AM

Your ship is a nice black and grey tattoo. I think a Venetian mask tattooed in a neo-traditional style would clash somewhat with your ship. I donít think you would be happy with how they looked together. Maybe you could have a black and grey mask?

Yes, all the tattoos I'll do in the future will be colorless. Why would not it be good for you?

tdhine 31-05-2018 12:05 PM

So the mask would be black and grey too? Maybe if you could share the artist you are considering for the neo-traditional tattoo, that might help us to give better advice.

Black and gray mask. The artist is the same.

tdhine 31-05-2018 11:03 PM

Okay you could get the mask. Should look good if itís the same artist as the ship.

In the end I thought about it better. The Venice-themed tattoo remains, but to have a theme of a corner of the city (realistic). Same place I had said before.

dtm 07-06-2018 07:55 PM

excellent job
