Default Fresh versus Healed - Josh Duffy

Afternoon All,

I figured I would post a healed shot of my Josh Duffy piece I got back in July of 2017. Over a year later, and it still looks great imo. So much so that I am going back to get the other side of my forearm done on the 16th by Josh! Will be a steampunk-esque pocket watch that will tie in and complete my entire forearm (front up to the ditch and rear just past the elbow. Will post pictures once that piece is complete, but in the meantime, here is a fresh versus healed comparison of my first piece. Sorry for the weird rotation on the second picture.... google drive is a pain for embedding images in forums.

He is great and his works heals great but the fact he charges what he does is an absolute joke, there are thousands of artists a quarter of the price who tattoo literally the same.

His greed actually takes away from his talent unfortunately.

Is he really $4k a day? Is that confirmed? The last I heard was that he had raised his rate from $2k per day to $3k per day. But that could be old info.

First of all he doesn't charge that much a day (4k), he charges 3k for a day rate and 400/hour. Second of all, the amount I choose to pay for a tattoo is my choice, and while there are some tattooists that charge less, stylistically they may be different, or they might not heal as well as one of Josh's pieces. Maybe they will and it's simply that they are cheaper, but I chose Josh for my first tattoo due to proximity to my house, and anyone else of Josh's caliber would have required a flight and hotel room, thereby bringing the cost to the same amount I paid Josh. I've done my research, and I chose Josh due to his experience, unique style, clean lines, and quality of healing. I dont really factor in pricing as a major priority for stuff that is going to be on me for life, but my situation may be different than others. At any rate, there are always artists that charge less and more than the next, and people still go them regardless with varying results.

/rant over

Here is a piece that josh did last night. It wraps around my entire rear forearm and connects to the healed piece above. It exceeded my expectations for sure. We didnt get to the upper portion of the elbow as you can tell in the photo, as it was already 12:35 am, and the piece was complete regardless. Can't wait to see it healed up, the gears and everything else on the piece should pop even more.
