Default Putting color in a b&g piece

I got a Japanese piece 3-4 years ago, its very detailed and over the years it has become a little lost, I think it would work much better in full color.
Has anyone put color over b&g?

The whole thing in color? A lot of Japanese tattoos have a colored foreground with black and grey backgrounds, that might be something to consider. I'm not sure what you mean by "lost" but if it's busy and hard to distinguish the different elements, coloring the foreground but not the background might help that.

Thanks for the helpful reply.
Thought I would add a couple of pictures to help, why they are rotated I have no idea.
I am not sure the flower pettles can be coloured as these are quite black but I think maybe everything else can.
I think with adding colour you will be able to tell better what is going on, do you agree?

Cheers guys..... maybe i'll just get it touched up instead of coloured.
I am staying in south africa at the moment, there is no one over here decent so going to my tattoo guy when I am back in the UK in a couple of months, i have booked in with him for a day so i'll see what he suggested then.
Maybe i'll need a backup too idea he can put somewhere in case he only needs a couple of hours with the touch up
